Your Role with Gunnedah Chamber

As Secretary and the Marketing, Engagement & Events Manager for Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce, I’m responsible for the day-to-day communications, coordination, and connection that keep our Chamber running smoothly and purposefully.

My role is a blend of strategic and creative – from member communications, event delivery, and social media, to committee support and community engagement. I help bring our Chamber’s ideas and initiatives to life in a way that feels meaningful and accessible for our members and wider business community.

I’m also responsible for managing the Chamber website and digital footprint, streamlining our operational systems, and supporting initiatives like the Business Awards, endorsed vendor listings, and the rollout of Next Gen Chamber. I work closely with the committee and council stakeholders to ensure our messaging is clear, our goals are aligned, and that everything we do connects back to supporting local business.

How Does the Gunnedah Business Community Support You?

Gunnedah’s business community is the reason I do this work – it’s where I draw both inspiration and momentum.

As someone who also runs a small business, I know firsthand the challenges, the pressure, and the incredible heart that exists in our local business landscape. The feedback I receive through conversations, emails, and at events gives me a clear understanding of what our members need and value most – and that directly shapes the work I do in this role.

I feel supported by the trust our members place in the Chamber, and in the mutual understanding that we’re all navigating this landscape together. When our community shows up, engages, asks questions or shares a win – that’s what fuels me to keep going, building a Chamber that reflects the values, strengths, and spirit of Gunnedah.

Why Do You Enjoy Working with the Gunnedah Chamber?

I love being part of something that’s helping shape the future of our town – not in a top-down way, but from the ground up.

The Chamber gives me a platform to connect people, amplify stories, and champion projects that genuinely matter. It’s a space where small ideas can grow into big initiatives, and where collaboration and curiosity are just as important as strategy and structure.

I enjoy the diversity of the work – no two days are the same – and I feel deeply proud of the role the Chamber plays in making our region more vibrant, connected and sustainable. Whether it’s planning an event, updating our members, or helping launch a new initiative, I know the work has meaning.

And being surrounded by a committee of people who care about Gunnedah the way I do makes it even better.
