Your Role with Gunnedah Chamber

As President of the Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I am a passionate advocate for our local business community, leading with a focus on governance, strategic collaboration, and bold advocacy. I represent the interests of our Chamber members by engaging directly with policymakers, private sector leaders, and government decision-makers to address barriers to economic growth, development, and sustainability in our region.

I am committed to fostering innovation and resilience within our business ecosystem. Holding accountability at every level is important to me, ensuring decision-makers are actively working towards real solutions that benefit our community. Through targeted workshops, strategic partnerships, and networking events, I strive to equip businesses with the practical tools they need to navigate regulatory challenges and embrace sustainable practices.

Under my leadership, I want the Chamber to continue being a voice for change, shining a light on the unique challenges faced by regional enterprises and delivering actionable solutions. My approach bridges the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that local businesses not only survive but thrive in an ever-evolving landscape.

Looking ahead, I am dedicated to expanding the Chamber’s impact by building stronger networks, advocating for economic and infrastructure development, and driving greater accountability among key stakeholders. My vision is clear: to position Gunnedah as a regional leader in innovation, sustainability, and growth, empowering businesses to overcome obstacles and create a strong, vibrant future for our community.

How Does the Gunnedah Business Community Support You?

The Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce provides me with a dynamic platform to enhance my advocacy efforts and drive meaningful change for local businesses. By fostering connections with a diverse network of business leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders, the Chamber empowers me to address regional challenges and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

Through the Chamber, I gain access to valuable resources, insights, and forums that help me stay informed about economic trends, regulatory frameworks, and member needs. This knowledge plays a crucial role in shaping the strategies I implement within my own business, ensuring that we remain agile, responsive, and aligned with the realities of our regional business landscape.

The Chamber’s infrastructure and collaborative opportunities allow me to test and refine innovative solutions while navigating governance and compliance challenges. The insights and support I receive enable me to pivot effectively in response to shifting market conditions, making sure my business decisions are grounded in practical knowledge and foresight.

By leveraging the collective voice and influence of the Chamber, I strengthen my ability to advocate for policies that support sustainable business practices and economic resilience. This reciprocal relationship not only enhances my professional growth but also reinforces my commitment to driving prosperity for businesses throughout Gunnedah and beyond.

The Chamber also fuels my passion for learning and growth. Engaging with members, policymakers, and stakeholders gives me fresh perspectives that inspire my approach to governance, compliance, and risk management.

Ultimately, I love working with the Chamber because it allows me to make a tangible impact - strengthening local businesses, empowering entrepreneurs, and contributing to the long-term success and sustainability of our incredible Gunnedah community.

Fun Fact

During my time working in aeromedical retrieval in the Outback, I once had to assist with a landing on a makeshift airstrip surrounded by wild camels. It was one of those surreal moments that perfectly captured the unpredictability of remote Australia - balancing life-saving work with the quirks of the landscape. Experiences like this reinforced my adaptability, problem-solving skills, and sense of humour - even in the most high-stakes situations!
