2025 Projects in Focus
& Subcommittees
An immediate priority is identifying the common pain points for many of our businesses and helping to address them. For many, recruitment and retention remains a significant challenge due to widespread labour shortages. While there is no one silver bullet for this challenge, there are many worthwhile approaches to addressing this and other challenges our businesses are encountering.

We need to do more in promoting Gunnedah as a great place to work, live and thrive. We need to promote the positive attributes of living & working in Gunnedah, continue to strengthen the social and economic fabric of our great community and help build strong businesses that remain the lifeblood of our economy.

Following is a snapshot of some of the projects for the year ahead.

We've had enough!!!
Urgent Resourcing and 24-Hour Staffing of Gunnedah Police Station

The petition asks the Legislative Assembly to call on the government to:
1. Implement 24-hour on-site staffing at Gunnedah Police Station, ensuring
officers are available to respond in real-time to overnight incidents.
2. Increase police resourcing in Gunnedah, including staffing levels, patrol
capability, and crime prevention units.
3. Introduce a dedicated, locally-answered Gunnedah police phone line so that
calls made to the station during emergencies or disturbances are answered and
actioned by on-site officers - rather than being redirected to distant locations
