Empowering Gunnedah’s Youth

Chamber Joins Youth Expo again in 2025

Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce is proud to be part of the 2025 Youth Expo, hosted by Gunnedah Shire Council on Thursday 11 April at the Gunnedah Town Hall.

The Youth Expo is an annual event that brings together students from Years 10–12 with local organisations, employers, and education providers. It’s an important opportunity for our young people to explore career pathways, connect with potential employers, and see what opportunities exist right here in their own backyard.

At this year’s event, Chamber will once again host our Member Job Board – a curated display of current employment opportunities, apprenticeships, traineeships, and career pathways shared by our members. This allows businesses who are unable to attend in person to still be present and visible to the next generation entering the workforce.

We’ll also be distributing our 2025 Gunnedah Chamber Guide, showcasing the year’s initiatives and events, and offering branded Chamber merchandise for students and attendees.

In addition to sharing employment opportunities, we’ll be engaging directly with students through a Youth Survey. The survey aims to gain a deeper understanding of what motivates young people to stay in Gunnedah, what influences their decisions to leave, and what factors might bring them back in the future. This feedback helps shape our ongoing strategies and support frameworks under our Gunnedah Beyond 2050 vision, ensuring youth voices are heard in shaping our region’s future.

Want to be included on our Member Job Board?

We’re inviting all Chamber members to submit any of the following:

  • Job vacancies

  • Apprenticeships or traineeships

  • Work experience or cadetship programs

  • Career pathway brochures or business info

If your business has something to offer Gunnedah’s young people, we’d love to feature you. Simply email the details to secretary@gunnedah.org.au by Wednesday 10 April.

Let’s inspire the next generation and showcase the strength of Gunnedah’s business community, together.
